Frances Dunn Butterfoss"Fran Butterfoss and her team have the rare blend of insights as both researchers and practitioners that make consultation and training from Coalitions Work invaluable. While many consultants can cite theory, Dr. Butterfoss actually conducted much of the seminal research in coalition and community empowerment and applies it in practice—making her one of the most highly sought consultants today."

Ready to enjoy Tampa?

Get ready to warm up in Tampa Bay! There's a sunny side to this West Coast Florida community that makes it a wonderful place to combine work and relaxation.

Naturally there's lots of water, sand and sunshine. But you will also discover an area that's alive with the arts, seriously sports-minded, always planning a party or parade, and filled with only-in-Tampa Bay places to go, things to do and sights to see. Whatever your pleasure, you'll find it in Tampa Bay!

Tampa's semi-tropical climate invites you to enjoy the great outdoors year-round. And the people are every bit as warm as the temperatures. An inherent Southern charm makes anyone who visits Tampa Bay feel welcome and right at home.

Create Your Own Experience

The possibilities of what to do while in Tampa Bay are limitless. Stroll aboard a luxury cruise line or climb onto a catamaran. Fish from a pier or cast off from the deck of a deep-sea charter.

Smack a golf ball then take your seat at a professional ball game. Buy fresh local goods from a farmer's market in the morning, then shop for a designer gown to wear that night. This is the place to careen wildly in a state-of-the-art roller coaster at Busch Gardens, serenely sail along quiet coastal waters, take in a fine art exhibition, or pop open a bottle of aged wine.

This is where your list of things to do just keeps getting longer. Watch as fine cigars are hand-rolled in Ybor City. Stroll the lush grounds surrounding Tampa's first luxury resort, the Tampa Bay Hotel, now occupied by the Henry B. Plant Museum and University of Tampa. Watch the world's best entertainers now appearing at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. Or make it easy on yourself and take it easy. Guided waterfront cruises offer close-up views of playful dolphins.

From land or water, observe an abundance of birds in their natural habitats. If rest and relaxation are of interest, pause at one of the many spas found throughout the area. And then set your sights on admiring the area's signature colorful sunsets.

And of course, we can't forget the Starship Dinner Cruise! A wonderful evening activity that comes highly recommended by past conference participants.

Enjoy the conference and enjoy our wonderful city!
