Synopsis: Using Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System data collected by the Centers for Disease Control in 2003, 2005, and 2007, the present analysis explores the frequency of victimization and delinquency related behaviors among American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) youth. AI/AN youth exhibit higher rates of victimization and delinquency compared to other race/ethnic groups and a strong and consistent association between victimization and delinquency is observed among AI/AN youth. Policy and programmatic implications of the findings are discussed.
