Synopsis: Children who witness domestic violence are at high risk of developing mental health problems. This paper presents findings from a treatment outcome study of this often-overlooked population. Results indicate a high proportion of these children are also victims of physical or sexual abuse, increasing the likelihood of negative developmental and psychosocial outcomes. Further, many study children continued to have contact with the perpetrator of the abuse, requiring skills to manage this relationship and insure their own safety.
