Synopsis: Attitudes and knowledge are related to mental health service use. We know little about these factors among older youth in foster care. This study examined these factors in 244 older foster youth. At the multivariate level, gender, race, depression, county of residence and attitudes were associated with service knowledge. Getting drunk, residential care, depression and service knowledge were associated with attitude. These results can inform development of targeted interventions to improve service knowledge and attitudes.
