Synopsis: This evaluation study moved beyond research focused on effectiveness of evidence-based treatments in more restrictive settings to assess the effectiveness of such treatments in community mental health settings where complex clinical situations regularly confront practitioners. Measures were collected at intake and at eighth or termination sessions under three different treatment conditions including two involving empirically demonstrated approaches and one with no model or approach being specified. Results suggest that evidence-based approaches are more effective, (p<.05).
