Synopsis: Study findings summarize youths’ dual-system experiences with their public mental health and juvenile justice systems. This qualitative study includes the four-perspective viewpoints of youth and family consumers, as well as their two service providers. Researchers examine the highly variable nature of collaboration between two service systems and its relationship to youths’ outcomes. Subsequent pilot studies demonstrate how two communities strengthened dual-system collaboration, resulting in earlier identification and easier access to community-based mental health services.
