Synopsis: This study examines patterns of substance use among Caucasian and African American adolescents entering a systems-of-care program. Youth reports (n=4615) of substance use were obtained at intake. Latent Class Analyses will be used to identify classes of use for each racial group. Similarities and differences in the class structure and the distributions of African American and Caucasian youth within each class will be examined. The results and implications of the findings will be discussed.
