Synopsis: Missed appointments in service delivery systems represent a substantial impediment to effective case management, clinical efficiency, staff morale, and resource utilization. We present data from a large dataset regarding variables that predict missed appointments for children receiving ongoing mental health services. Although many demographic and clinic variables differentiate compliant from non-compliant families, a history of maternal depression represents the most robust predictor. We discuss the implication of these findings for monitoring and preventing treatment non-adherence.
