Synopsis: Informal support services provided to youth and their families represent a strengths-based service approach for System of Care families. Demographics, family history, service use, and caregiver strain were tested for differences between youth receiving informal support services and those not receiving informal support services at intake and 6 months following intake. Youth receiving informal support services are more likely to utilize outpatient and support services. Analysis results of individual and composite caregiver strain also differed.
