Synopsis: This study examined treatment outcome in a school-based mental health program that transports evidence-based treatments (EBTs) for disruptive behavior problems to schools in underserved communities in Appalachia. Using a quasi-experimental design and hierarchical linear modeling, we examined change in symptoms, functioning, and grades in 91 treated and 26 waitlisted children. Family socioeconomic status was significantly lower than that typically found in youth treatment outcome studies. These data offer optimism about implementing EBTs under challenging conditions.
