Synopsis: OBJECTIVE: To determine if participation in youth groups is associated with preferable behavioral outcomes. METHODS: A secondary analysis was conducted among youth that participated in the ADD Health study. RESULTS: Data indicated that youth group participation is protective of various types of delinquent behaviors, sexual risk-taking, and substance abuse, as well as combining of these behaviors. CONCLUSION: These findings offer preliminary evidence supporting youth groups as a potential component of clinical care for behavioral difficulties.
