Presentation Type: brief symposium

Synopsis: This session will present a research agenda aimed at improving the quality of school-based mental health services. The proposed agenda includes the need to examine both academic and social/emotional functioning as outcomes. In addition, the components of “routine mental health services” need to be further explicated and their effectiveness evaluated. Finally, the current research base will be summarized and conceptual and methodological next steps will be recommended.
