Synopsis: The findings from a randomized controlled trial evaluating the effectiveness of a support program for parents of children with emotional disturbance (ED) will be presented. Parents of children with ED were trained to become Parent Connectors and deliver support to parents through weekly telephone calls. The data reveal that a telephone support project is feasible and can be successful in improving outcomes in both academic and emotional functioning of children with ED.
