Synopsis: In 2004, the Child and Family Unit of the Vermont Department of Mental Health implemented systematic empirically-based assessment procedures in its Intensive-Services-Program. The Intensive-Services-Program serves children with acute psychological problems through a network of community mental health centers. The 3-year follow-up results for 292 5- to 19-year-old children will be presented. Successful strategies for the implementation of empirically-based procedures in community settings will be discussed.
