Synopsis: The presentation is designed to inform the participant on the recent activities of the newly formed Division of Mental Health and Disability Services in the State of Iowa in the development and implementation of children’s mental health services through public agency and legislative initiatives, the implementation of a children’s system of care demonstration grant project in ten counties within the state, and the development and use of a system review to identify system strengths and opportunities for development. Key legislative activities will be discussed, lessons learned from the initial stages of the system of care grant development, and the preliminary findings of the system review.
