Synopsis: Systems of care are increasingly implementing evidence-based practices (EBP). Little attention has been paid to provider attitudes to EBP or optimal leadership for implementation. This presentation describes two studies examining leadership and mental health provider attitudes toward adopting EBPs. Participants in Study I included consumers, administrators and policy makers, and in Study II 303 public sector mental health providers from a large youth system of care. Concept Mapping and regression analyses indicated more positive leadership associated with more favorable provider attitudes toward the adoption of EBPs. Systems of care may benefit from improving supervisor leadership in preparation for implementing EBPs.
