Synopsis: This presentation illustrates a conceptual foundation for building practice-based evidence within culturally-based programs, reports on findings from a focus group study addressing the question, "What is 'success' for Native American youth?" and describes the next steps in conducting effectiveness evaluation in culturally- and community-imbedded programs. The overall question for this project is, "What are feasible, culturally appropriate, and rigorous research and evaluation strategies to describe, document, evaluate, and disseminate methods to study the effectiveness of culturally-specific and/or community-imbedded programs and practices?"
