Synopsis: This study examines the labor force outcomes of caregivers of children served in system of care communities funded by the Center for Mental Health Services. Case studies from a local system-of-care community (i.e., Tapestry - Cleveland, Ohio) detail how Parent Advocate services and supports are giving caregivers the confidence and skills necessary to obtain employment. Study results indicate that system of care services benefited a large proportion of unemployed caregivers in terms of labor market outcomes. Life skills training, as well as more specific career building skills training provided to caregivers lead to positive employment and financial outcomes.
