Synopsis: At a recent meeting, Child, Adolescent and Family Branch at SAMHSA, addressed ÒSuicide Issues in Systems of Care," resulting in the development of an accepted set of principles to address suicide throughout Systems of Care communities (SOCC). An additional product currently under development is a comprehensive logic model designed to address suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention issues within SOCC. The logic model identifies population characteristics and needs, appropriate individual, family, and community level interventions, and prospective short and long-term outcomes. Attendee feedback on the principles and the logic model will be sought for possible incorporation into both products.
