Synopsis: Legally mandated responses to reports of child sexual abuse require police, protective services, prosecutors, family court and treatment providers to negotiate complementary, overlapping roles with children and families. In Kansas City Missouri a theory-based model for collaborative strengths-based teams was applied at an administrative level to integrate and improve this multi-system response. Theoretical constructs, structures developed, accomplishments, and initial evaluation data from this ongoing project are presented in light of their implications for transforming or developing systems of care, especially in child welfare.
