Synopsis: The Restrictiveness of Living Environment Scale has served for many years as the primary way of conceptualizing and quantifying the restrictiveness of a living environment. This topical discussion will begin with a description of the proposed revision, the conceptual framework and measurement of restrictiveness. The plan is to design a revised scale which is empirically derived and based on actual practice. Panelists will present pilot data, but the majority of the session will be a discussion to solicit feedback from participants on the design and on several key questions.
