Synopsis: Researchers frequently seek to engage in collaborative evaluations involving school systems, and models of mental health services for children frequently require interaction with schools. Both researchers and mental health providers must have a good understanding of the school environment to collaborate successfully. Discussion will focus on program evaluation and mental health service provision in school systems, difficulties in collaborating with schools, and ideas for enhancing collaborations. Discussants will include university researchers and clinicians who collaborate with school systems and a school district staff member who oversees student assessment and studies of school children. Discussion will be open to audience members.
