Synopsis: Child-serving agencies in Ohio considering the adoption of MultiSystemic Therapy (MST) often develop collaborative alliances through which they structure decision-making and implementation strategies related to funding and system of care coordination. As part of a three-year longitudinal study involving open-ended, structured interviews with key informants in 13 systems of care, qualitative methods were used to analyze financial and systemic factors that drive or impede the decision-making processes in collaborative alliances formed to support MST adoption. Differences between the adopter and non-adopter alliances have implications for understanding the impact of evidence-based practice adoption on system transformation.
