Synopsis: Systems of Care (SOCs) require effective partnerships to be developed among service sectors with different missions and mandates. Consequently, conflict may occur among the partners. Although there are anecdotal reports that interagency conflict impedes effective, sustainable SOCs, there are no studies of the nature or resolution of conflicts. The purpose of this study is to determine the presence, nature and resolution of conflicts within Center for Mental Health funded SOC sites. Information is obtained from mail and web-based surveys of funded and graduated sites. This study informs the development of alternate dispute resolution approaches to resolving SOC conflicts.
