Synopsis: The national evaluation of the Comprehensive Community Mental Health Services for Children and Their Families Program provides information about the impact of systems of care using a standard approach and instrument package. Special studies have been conducted to examine unique issues and to explore the potential of less traditional approaches for evaluation. This paper will present the first findings from the Family-Driven Study of Family Involvement in Systems of Care. The study, designed and conducted by a team of diverse family members, examines the experiences and views of family members in three communities.
