Synopsis: The Developmental Pathways Screening Program offers an "Emotional Health Check-up" to 6th graders entering Seattle middle schools. The Check-up involves universal classroom-based screening for emotional distress, evaluation of positive screens by child mental health professionals, and feedback with motivational enhancement to families to help link students to needed academic, social, and mental health supports. Presenters will address these questions 1) Who participates? 2) Who is identified as experiencing emotional distress? 3) What kinds of supports are indicated? 4) Who is successfully linked to supports? and 5) What features enhance and what barriers interfere with successful linkage and program implementation?
