Synopsis: This presentation describes results of an organizational intervention conducted by the Residential Treatment Center Evaluation Project at Purdue University Calumet. The intervention involves using a consultative model of quality assurance review in residential treatment centers. Over the last three years, the consultative model was employed in 120 consultative reviews of over 35 facilities in 5 states. The presentation describes service quality improvement in the areas of assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic service delivery, educational advocacy, and psychiatric practice. The presentation also describes baseline consultative review findings gathered in the context of therapeutic foster care.
