Synopsis: Our presentation at last year's conference on universal screening demonstrated that many parents have developmental and mental health concerns about their young children. This year we compare different screening tools, the incidence of problems, and follow-up data, investigating 335 Denver II screenings of children 0-3 in child care and 262 Parent’s Evaluation of Developmental Status screenings of children 0-6 in WIC, pediatric practice and child care. Types of identified problems are analyzed by age and gender, as are problem clusters and pathways to service. Opportunities and barriers as well as implications for public policy and service system transformation are discussed.
