Synopsis: Organizational structure, management decisions, and role relationships have many impacts on the mental health support young children and their families receive, beyond particular abilities of each mental health professional. Hear research-based recommendations to optimize the outcomes of mental health consultants and services; recommendations underscore the importance of staff development and wellness for the measurable benefit of children. Findings draw from a randomized survey of over 950 staff and parents at 80 Head Start Centers across the nation, analyzed with hierarchical linear modeling and other methods.
