Presentation Type: topical discussion
Synopsis: This topical discussion will focus on critical research-to-practice service delivery, training, and policy issues in the field of school-based mental health, based on a paper being written for the Institute of Medicine by three of the presenters. In addition, efforts underway in Ohio, through the Ohio Mental Health Network for School Success, will be discussed to exemplify movement from public policy to research-based local action. Research findings from ongoing school-based mental health projects from each of six regions of the state will be discussed. These research studies and findings will be framed in terms of the community science model of program development.
