Synopsis: The importance of social and emotional learning (SEL) for children across multiple environments is recognized as necessary to impact long-term outcomes. Developing effective strategies to disseminate SEL from schools to communities is a topic receiving recent attention. This presentation will explore how a social marketing strategy was implemented and evaluated to translate an evidence-based preventive intervention from schools through community providers to parents. Problems and challenges during development and implementation of the strategy will be discussed. Other topics reviewed will include best practices for population-based dissemination, showcasing the product (The Little Turtle Activity Kit), and directions for future research.
