Synopsis: This study examined the service utilization of 206 youth during the six months following assignment to a level of care using the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale )(CAFAS). Service utilization varied greatly both within and between levels of care. Average cost for services increased with level of care. The CAFAS and Ohio Scales accounted for approximately 5% of the variance in service utilization. The implications of level of care research with children are considered.
