Synopsis: The purpose of this poster is to raise awareness in the research community about the need to more effectively treat adolescents who are sexual abusers, especially those adolescents who are placed in residential treatment centers for children who have emotional disturbances. There is a critical need for epidemiological data as well as intervention studies that will produce best practices. The poster will highlight some emerging examples of treatment programs, advocacy networks, and initiatives to develop treatment standards for caring for these most needy adolescents. The potential to include these interventions into the system of care will be addressed.
