Synopsis: The world of children's mental health services is challenged by the competing interests of the family, judiciary, child welfare, education, and mental health sectors. Within each of these sectors, perceptions about the other are defined by the experiences that both consumers and professionals acquire as they interface with competing systems. The social construction of this reality is captured by the Indiana System of Care Assessment Project that gathered detailed survey responses from over 1500 respondents. Survey findings detail the perceptual cleavages that must be overcome in order to establish collaborative and coordinated service provision.
