Synopsis: This panel discussion addresses the role of technology in the transformation of US mental health services systems called for by the President's New Freedom Commission. Selection and utlization of emerging technologies to address access to care and workforce development will be discussed in the context of meeting the needs of children, families, students, and professionals/providers of children's mental health services within a system of care. Several examples utilizing technology in children's mental health will be described, including a System of Care Professional Training Consortium, the SAMHSA Human Services Workforce for Children and Families Project, and the System of Care Curriculum Initiative Listserv.
