Synopsis: This presentation describes and evaluates the effects of two managed care organizational and financing conditions (integrated and carve-out) on access to mental health services, service utilization patterns, child health status and functioning, and caregiver satisfaction and level of trust for Medicaid-enrolled children with or at risk of serious emotional disturbance who reside in two Florida counties. The mental health status and effectiveness of treatment planning is examined for a small sub-sample of the youth. Implications for managed care planning and refinements will be discussed.
