Synopsis: The Community Youth Development Study (CYDS) is a large-scale community-randomized field trial designed to evaluate the Communities that Care (CTC) framework for the empirical identification of risk, protective and promotive factors, and subsequent implementation of appropriate community-level preventative interventions. A specific aim of CTC is to improve collaboration among youth service sectors regarding prevention activities. This study assesses psychometrically the properties of the CYDS measure of prevention collaboration using multilevel confirmatory factor analysis and examines both individual- and community-level covariates hypothesized to be related to the measure.
