Synopsis: Postsecondary outcomes (e.g., postsecondary employment, postsecondary education, and no incarceration) for students with EBD associated with various types of secondary school exits were compared, using existing statewide databases. It was observed that students with EBD who exited through standard diploma had better postsecondary outcomes as compared to those exiting secondary school through alternative diploma, including those who dropped out/withdrew. These findings form a baseline for assessing the impact of education policies that advocates increasing participation of students with disabilities into standard diploma and standard-based testing.
