Synopsis: The Parent Empowerment Program (PEP) provides parent advocates with the tools to help parents take a greater role in their children's mental health treatment through increased knowledge about specific disorders, evidence-based treatments, and available community and school services. This presentation identifies the service self-efficacy and satisfaction results from the PEP pilot training of 35 parent advocates. Self-efficacy results were in the expected positive direction, though not significant. Positive satisfaction results and advocate feedback suggest the continued need for training and support. Preliminary findings confirm the need for the continued evaluation of the PEP, currently funded through an NIMH grant.
