Synopsis: We compared the practices that children's mental health providers identify as evidence-based practices with those identified as such in the research literature. Providers (n = 547) were surveyed about 33 practice models. Existing reviews were used to categorize practices by the degree to which they have been proven effective. The majority of the sample indicated familiarity with all practices; for almost every practice, more than half the sample thought it resulted in positive outcomes. There was discordance in many cases, however, between clinicians' perspectives and the literature base for each practice, as well as the extent to which practices were implemented.
