Synopsis: The National Longitudinal Transition Study-2 (NLTS2), commissioned in 2001 by the U.S. Office of Special Education Programs, is a follow-up of NLTS, designed and conducted by SRI International from 1985 through 1993. NLTS2 includes 11,000 youth nationwide who were ages 13-16 and receiving special education services in 2001. Findings generalize to these students nationally and to each federal special education disability category. Data about the course taking, instructional settings, classroom experiences, and types of services accessed of students with emotional disturbances (ED) will be compared with students with disabilities as a whole and with youth with ED in NLTS.
