Synopsis: A web-based survey was developed to gather information from children’s mental health service providers across 20 states about their opinion and practice of evidence-based treatment. To date information has been collected and entered from 310 respondents. Preliminary findings indicate considerable variation in both the knowledge and practice of evidence-based treatments among these providers. While the majority of respondents have heard of evidence-based treatment and many use such practices in their work, the variability in the awareness of available treatments and the perception of their effectiveness is considerable. The implications of these findings at a time of increasing requirements for the use of evidence-based treatments are discussed.
